OnePlus just introduced this Font engine in their latest Open Beta. Perhaps in a future update they will provide an option for custom fonts, but for now, root is the only way to go.

I have clearly stated that I do not own these fonts, and that their creator is indeed Rod McDonald.

You were wish fulfilled.
I just made a new Typeface archive and this time, instead of choosing the right fonts (ie Regular = Slate Regular, Medium = Slate Medium, Bold = Slate Bold), I dropped everything down one size.

With Regular now being the light option, and medium being regular, bold is medium, etc, then the font doesn't look half bad!

For those that have tried flashing a different font with this new beta, does it break the lockscreen clock (it replaces the ":" with a box and the usual fix doesn't work)? Tried flashing Product Sans but it broke the Lock screen clock.

Just a note - if there will come an update and the font will be modified, please check, if the license is still Apache v2.0. If yes, you can of course upload them, too. If they won't be under a free license, don't upload the updated versions.

1) You're good to go.
2) OP put OPMusic.apk under Apache v2.0? Well, while I don't think they published their sources, anybody is allowed to hack the app anyway. I fear some devs don't know what they are doing in terms of license. The only sad thing - I don't think you can demand to get the source code.

Worth noting that this font is probably still quite WIP (if you go over Bug Report section of the forums you'll see)

Otherwise it looks good being not too thick but not condensed

If you have a customer recovery and a suitable .zip you can flash any font you like (also needs root).

There are plenty of them around in a huge XDA topic, unfortunately Slate for OnePlus isn't there yet (that's why I asked if anyone's aware of a flashable zip for it...)
